Pictured here is a mother galgo and her pups. Mom is skin and bones but makes it to the door without fail when she hearsyou coming. She craves attention as she spends most of her time alone under the heat lamp trying to nurse her pups and keep herself and them warm. I say a prayer every night that when the electric flickers on and off she and her pups can manage to keep warm.

  1. Julie, it was amazing to get your photos from Spain! I bet you want to take ALL of the galgos back to the States with you, to lead the plush life they deserve. Please tell Fermin, if you can catch him, that Prisa (Laura, Scamp), the black and white dog del pozo, Jan 05, sends her greetings from the couch! She and her Scooby friend, PeTunya (Tuna) are living the high life at our house in Denver. Spoiled rotten.
It sounds like volunteering has been a rewarding experience and I'm sure you're working up an appetite. The 2 girls going to NJ have quite a story to tell. They are very , very luck girls. You really think that you won't fail fostering with Ginger (haha ha ha). I hope the donations to Scooby will prove useful and we thank you so very much for transporting them such a long way. Take care. I look forward to visiting your blog again soon.

  2. Judy,
Yes, thank you I will pass that along to Fermin if we see him again. I only bumped into him once and then had to introduce myself. He was not happy as he had come home from work and we had no electric.
This trip is life changing not just for the galgos but persoanlly for all of us. I can´t wait to come back.
Thank you for your support. The people of Colorado have been very, very supportive and generous.
    Hugs from Medina,
    Julie
